Our journeys have taken us across the country and mostly into the wilderness. From the jungles of Corbett, Rajaji National Park, Mudumalai-Bandipur-Nagarhole, to the forts of Alwar, Kankwadi (Sariska), Jaipur, the tribes of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, the temples of the South, we are still discovering this beautiful country. We have also had the privilege of backpacking across Scotland, camping and be up close with the wild in Africa and exploring the underwaters of the Far East. We are adventurous to the point of being foolhardy and have suffered some heart stopping moments too. Elephants have had a special affinity towards us – being chased by a mother elephant in Corbett; Chased, Surrounded and Charged at by a herd of 50 at Chobe National Park, Botswana and getting a special visit at dusk from a herd at Mudumalai which sent us scampering back to our room, have been some of the memorable experiences. Camping under the skies at the Okavango Delta and canoeing close to the hippos, white water rafting on the mighty Zambezi (which ensured a well entrenched fear of water into me and has made learning to swim a BIG challenge), swinging in the gorges, microlighting over Victoria Falls, a 24 hr vigil on a machan in the core forests of Melghat, driving through the forests of Dandakaranya, Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Bhadra, has created a hunger for MORE. The bone jarring ride from Chilphi (Chhattisgarh border) to Mandla (MP) on full bladders, the cap and glasses flying away at Chobe (thanx to the maniacal driving!) and landing on an ant pile and the driver retrieving the same only to end up with ants in his pants, shock on discovering that the Chinese driver at KL spoke Tamil have lent the zing to our trips! Our dream trips? Definitely a trek through the NorthEast of India and a Trans-Africa expedition! :)
