Hey Guys, We are Sudeep & Smita Agarwal. I am a Businessman running factories in Ahmednagar, a town that prouds in testing India's every new automobile at VRDE (Vehicle Researsh Development Establishment). Smita is my Sweet and supportive wife, who takes care of me and my family. One of the common interest between us is passion for cars and activities related to it... We are here because the concept of the contest is to show my best skills - Driving, Photography & blogging..... I was 4th in "India's Best Young Driver 2009" (missed 1st place by just 2.75 point) and now its time to take the "Greatest Driving Challenge"

We are the best candidates because...

When it comes to Roads, there's no end to Our Journey................. Adventure, Driving, Travelling, Photography, Exploration..... all's in our Genes.......... I have driving experience not only in India but also overseas….. I am also India’s 4th Best Young Driver in March 2009. Clocked over 5 Lac Km behind the wheels, I have driven nearly every Indian car – from yester years Ambassador to Today’s finest cars like Mercedes. What more, I have experience of non-automotive vehicles also – like bi-cycle, bullock-cart, etc. I have tried my hands on heavy vehicles like Truck, Tractor, etc. Smita on the other hand has been a great traveler with an experience of having been driven over most of the India. So with such vast driving experience, who do you say is the Best Candidate?

Our Travel Plan

Long back, a magazine had published India’s 100 Best Roads to Drive. The top slot was for Leh-Ladakh. Last year my cousins drove on it, and they still confirm its true. Though I would have loved to keep that stretch in my travel plan, but to go by the rules, I would like to go over the next best route option. The Journey will start from Mumbai. Taking NH17, we would head down south to Panaji by the Konkan Highway. The beauty here is driving between magnificent Western Ghats & Arabian Sea. Continuing further down south on NH17, we would visit the Jog Falls, Rain forest of Karnataka by the Arabian Sea, we would reach Mangalore. From Mangalore, taking NH 48, we would move to Hassan, and from there dive down to right on SH21 towards Mysore. From here we will go to Kodaikanal via Ooty, Coimbatore thru NH212, NH 67, and NH209 while exploring the beauty of Nilgiri Mountains & Western Ghats. We will then head to Madurai via NH 49 and then continue our trip on NH7 via Salem to Bangalore. Final leg of the journey will cover about 1000 Km stretch on NH4 from Bangalore to Mumbai via Hubli - Pune. An approx. 3200 km, 12 days journey – divided in 3 stretches – covers coast, forests & mountains, various National & State highways including parts of Golden Quadrilateral - across 4 different states.

Our Travelogue

I love travelling since I can remember. I started by traveling in the passenger seat and gradually moved onto the driving seat. I have travelled across North-East-West-South of India and have seen and enjoyed most of Incredible India As passenger, some of my most memorable drives are: 1. Drive down the konkan highway to Ganpati Pule when I was just 8 yrs old. 2. Drive on the old Mumbai – Pune Ghat in Ambassadors, that used to get overheated in summers every year. 3. Bus trip in the Mountains of Uttaranchal during the family trip to Badrinath. 4. Car trip from Washington DC to Niagara Falls (about 775 km in a day) in 2000 – 1st experience on American Freeways. 5. Bus trip in US from Niagara Falls to Boston & Boston to New York. 6. Drive along the Canal Network in Rural Vietnam – Great Village experience 7. Family trip on top of truck with the entire luggage from GIR to Junagad in Gujrat, when our bus broke down during in GIR on a family outing. While Driving I have had lots of fun. Driving being my passion, some of the best experiences are: 1. My 1st long drive was along the Mumbai – Pune Expressway, when it was very new in the year 2000 – Scared but amazing. 2. Drive through the picturesque ghat to India’s queen of Mountains – Masoori. 3. Driving in the World of Beauty in the Fiji Islands, where during monsoon, the country shows only to shades – Green (trees) & Blue (Sea & Sky) 4. Drive from Kochi to Back Waters of Kerala. The best part of the drive was the view, that there were practically no boundaries to city. The houses were nearly wall to wall continuous all along the route. 5. Interesting ghat routes to Amby Valley, Lavasa, Mahableshwar. 6. Regularly driving down the Pune – Ahmednagar, Ahmednagar – Shirdi highways on my CBZ. 7. My Swift has been too loyal to me and has seen with me, the smooth roads of Expressways, dusty roughs of Mountains, Rainy Terrains and all. There’s more to Cars & Bikes in my life than just Driving. 1. I love to be different & keep my auto the same. I drive my RED SWIFT – Adjudged India’s most fun-to-drive car. I also own Hero Honda CBZ. I dressed up both of them in such a way that no matter which part of the country I am in, 2nd look is guaranteed. (Please see my photographs) 2. I also own over 700 nos. of scale models of cars nicely kept in an especially dedicated cupboard. I am so proud of my Bugatti Atlante 1939 Model that I was gifted on my 1st Birthday. I have most of the models covered. Next one I want is of HUMMER. 3. I was 4th in India’s Best Young Driver ’09, that now it’s time to take The India’s Greatest Driving Challenge

I know this man since last 5 years. we studied togeher, and since then he was crazy about cars & driving. he is a good business man, but i was sure he will do something related to driving in his life. i expected rcing. instead he went on to be fourth in "Indias Best Young Driver" and now in The Great Driving Challenge....
