That is me, Sudipto, with our golden retriever Baloo. My wife, Mrinalini, is with Solo, our beloved Irish Setter. I am a Media Professional and have been working with Major Television News Networks for the past thirteen years. She is an Ad-Copywriter turned homemaker. We have been married seven years and traveling with our two dogs in a car all seven of them. I am passionate about electronics, robotics and hi-tech toys. Mrinalini loves reading, is into writing short stories and currently learning to play the cello. We are the best candidates because...

Two Dogs, a car and 20,000 kms, and lusting for more… We form the perfect team because I love driving and Mrinalini is the navigator. She is always on the lookout for better roads, less traveled tracks, scenic routes or just shortcuts. But more than anything else, we love the road. For us traveling by the road is about just that – the road. We are never in a rush to get to the destination – we like soaking in the route – stopping when and where you want, taking picnics in wheat fields, letting our dogs run free, chatting up to locals and villagers, and even napping in the car at times. We don’t say we have 20,000kms under our belt… we say we have 20,000 experiences.

Our Travel Plan

One great option would be a drive from Goa to Leh via Mumbai- Ahmedabad-Udaipur-Jaipur-Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali-Leh. This route has the potential to bring forth the diversity of the entire landscape. From the Sea to the Mountain. However as time being of the essence, another great option would be a drive from Chennai to Delhi on Golder Quadrilateral. Northeast India is another great option but is would be almost impossible to cover 3000+ Kms in just 12 days in mountaineous terrain.rroute.

Our Travelogue

We have mostly traveled in North India - from Lucknow to Varanasi to Allahabad in UP. Extended holiday in the mountains, driving from Munsiyari, Binsar, Mukteshwar, Patal Bhuvaneshwar in Kumaon to Chopta, Pauri and Rishikesh in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Himachal Pradesh is an unending muse - the lush green valleys of Shimla, Shogi, Fagu... the apple basket of Kinnaur with the breathtakingly beautiful Kalpa,Sangla, Raksham and Chitkul. Paragliding at Rohtang Pass and Solang... food paradise in Manali and Nagggar... fishing in the gorgeous Tirthan Valley... the trek to the village of Malana with its dubious claim to fame as the left-over of Alexander the Great's army and best 'grass' - growers in Asia. A memorable, though short, trip to Bhutan. Our foray into south India – a trip to the Island paradise of Andaman & Nicobar, quick trips to Bangalore and Chennai. And one exhilarating, butt-kicking 4500 km drive from Delhi to Goa and back.
