Elena is based at Kolkata , works for her company till the evening and then she turns into a 'Bare-foot Doctor' for the slum kids around. Dr. Gaurav Chabra and Elena, two beautiful selfless souls and free spirits!! This lovely couple who are crusaders for a better world and voices for the downtrodden....really should win, I keep my fingers crossed coz they are taking this challenge for a big cause which will help a million little lives. Their love for adventure, for nature and the environment and to ride the wild side make them perfect contenders for the driving challenge!! I love you both and wish you the best for this journey. I know you will keep all of us glued with your interesting blogs, pictures and humour!! Bon Voyage, guys!!!!

japneet keith

In our journeys of life , we all live in accordannce to our whims and fantasies . A week beginning from monday to friday ..... we plan and keep enriching our own selves . Our souls thirst for the unknown freedom . the unknown freespirit is the question we keep asking ourselves ! Dr. gaurav is one such soul who has not only tasted the freedom of his soul , but is empowering to us all for the love , care and support he shares in his own way . His efforts to share his zest is surely remarkable . I wish this step takes you miles and miles and you keep fulfilling the promises . Good wishes to both you & Elena in your endeavour . Keep spreading the light for the pious spirit . Kudos to this beautiful cause !! love and regards jap

Anubhav

Knowing Gaurav has been a pleasure! So has been the pleasure to get a chance to Volunteer with him on a few local social issues of the City. This man has all the courage to stand up against all odds when most of people won't even think of taking a stand. He is an inspiration for me and many of my generation in the City. Elena ,her traveling partner fits in rightly as both stand for the same cause . And though I'm worried about your low number of votes due to late registration.. I'm sure You are in..bCOS i haven't seen u walking back from any of yours journeys without achieving what you stood for. Come to Chandigarh for sure, when you travel. Will wait. Kapil

Divya

This is yet another step for a beautiful cause by 2 beautifullllestest people - Gaurav & Elena. Their passion for travelling and photography is going to do WONDERS together!!! Very often, I hear a lot of big mouths talking humongous things they can do to make world a better place to live in.... and rather end up adding to the ugly! That was why when I first got to know Gaurav, I was very surprised to see the genuineness and modesty that lies within this guy. He's someone who has it in him to inspire and bring out the hidden part of us who want to be good & do good but is too scared to come out. He's fearless, fights for the "real" causes and brings smiles. Far from struggling for a secure future, he believes in struggling for his dreams which are not too glamorous by the way!!! and not to easy to live either. But he got the zeal & his creative grey matter enough to persue his dreams, shake & transform a part of the world (if not entire) and a part of you! Watch out for these 2 rolling stones :P All the very best dearest Elena and Gaurav. BLESSINGS

Dr. Rajat Chabba

I have known Gaurav since my first MBBS year..we share a passion..a passion for health communication. his work in this field has been exemplary and phenomenal to say the least. Few people posses the zeal that he does and pursue their dreams till the end. The Mud Cake Project is his dream and i wish him luck in all his endeavours. He is my mentor though he may not always agree!! All the best boss!! Cheers!!

Mary Suja

Gaurav Chhabra. He has chosen the path which is less trodden! Don't we know that revolution doesn't happen in streets, its born in minds. Well, dis guy is a BORN revolutioner! Don't know what he's gonna come up with next! He is absolutely a people's person and will go way & beyond to help his folks grown in their positions. He is blessed with the skill to engage with people of diverse backgrounds. His networking and relationship management skills have earned him respect and reputation in the industry and because of his immaculate domain expertise he commands immense respect from his peers and subordinates. His ability to effectively handle conflicts, responsibility, and his energy level has always motivated me. At ease in high stress, fast-paced environments.

varun chhabra

what should i say about this brother of mine i know him from my childhood when he was a fat guy who allways wear a white shirt , allways demanding for aalooo tikki and bread pakoras. he allways used to click pictures and usuall clicks a cat a white cat usually. then slowly and slowly photography became his passion and the result is in front of the world. may god bless you big bro !

varun chhabra

i forgot to say one thing IS SE BACH KE REHNA YE SABKI LAGAANE WALA HAI ********BEWARE********************OF************** *********HIM*************

Manu Moudgil

Having known Dr Gaurav for a while, I am sure his concerns are genuine and activism practical. Starting from the "Mudcake", all his films showcase the causes he espouses- be it environment, health or the social divide between haves and havenots. Always living on the edge, what I admire most in him is the belief that things can change. He is untouched by worldly ways and materialistic desires of earning a living just for the sake of it. The purpose of larger public good is what differentiates him from others. I really wish he wins the driving challenge which would mean something good for the children till now uncared for. We all need to give back to society what we have taken from it- security, dignity and hope. But it's only the likes of Gaurav and Elena who dare to payback. It's about time we also make our small contribution and support them to the hilt. All the best guys.

Richa

Gaurav has been such an inspiration! His works are mindblowing! Most of us keep thinking about following our passion and giving it back to the society, but I have seen Gaurav do it. And just being associated with him and encouraging him gives me a feeling of satisfaction that my life has been worthwhile. I wish him all the Best and I am sure that on his journey he will touch hundreds of hearts with love and come back with some great memories captured through his awesome skills in photography!

joyshri lobo

Gaurav, of the piercing eyes, long hair and dedication pouring out of every pore, is a remarkable young man. If we have more people like him, India will survive and become a place of joy and peace. I urge young people to follow Gaurav's example in doing something great and worthwhile for the country. He has started at the grass root level and if he wins from this journey, the organisation he represents will make a great difference to many deprived children.

amit

Gaurav...well..a truly selfless soul...hes an amazing film maker and the founder of the NGO Humlog.... with several accomplishments and awards behind him...he still seems to be a modest and humble person ...doing his part in making this world a better place....

doubleOOred

hi there. i know gaurav since his college days, we both have made many posters for NGOs in Ahmadabad for free ;-)i enjoyed it designing is my hobby and experiments was gaurav's hobby. Nishnat Sharma

Dr. gaurav's always an inpiration to those who wish to leave their illusionary self-fabricated important "jobs" and follow their passions - wether for themselves or the society ......... i'm sure he wouldnt have applied for this challenge if he weren't passionate enough so am sure he'll prove to be a successful competitor........

Hansa

Gaurav is a person who loves to love and care...Has a cause for die for...be it environment...be it the lovely kiddos...or just photography...I would love to see him and Elena to go through this journey and win it too...dil se....hip hip hurray to Highway Karma

Amanpreet Singh

Fr. Hank Nunn, S. J.

I appreciate writing this testimonial for Dr. Gaurav Chhabra and Elena Kasnatschewan in this contest. Both are highly dedicated to the cause of the unfortunate persons, the poor, the disadvantaged, the less fortunate persons in India whom we have in India. Dr. Chhabra has made films for those suffering from serious health problems and the mentally il. When engaged in making a film for this therapeutic community he was able to present the difficulties that these people have in a clear, direct manner that won an award and has highly appreciated by viewers. He deserves to be recognized for his creativity and dedication. He is thoughtful and understands just what the personal problems of the mentally ill are. He has been very generous with his time and creativity that deserves to be noted and rewarded. Elena has given herself to the education of the young children in the slum areas of Calcutta, devoting herself in determining to give the less fortunate whatever possible she can give them - all this in giving up her own country and career. Both of these young people need to encouraged and given the means to move about the country in order that they may use their talents in the service of those needing help from others. I suggest that what they have done must be appreciated.

Gaurav, A passionate photographer and a film maker. i'll call him indian micheal jackson ;-) (not in terms of dancing ofcourse) who's doing a wonderful job for the unfortunate kids by helping them to grow in life. I've not known him much as we didnt meet in person yet so , i'll wish him all the very best for the great cause Highwaykarma..Good luck dude..God Bless!

DR. AARTI VAZIRANI

i know gaurav less than i admire him. his guts.. for straying off the beaten track and chucking a lucrative medical career ( he is a qualified one , guys, nonwithstanding his rockstar good looks ! ) and following his chosen star... his courage for taking on rusty corrupt authorities for issues close to his heart... his lateral thinking... for daring to dream, think and actually do what most of us only fantasize about in our idealistic leisure dreams... way to go, gaurav and Elena ! am with you , heart and soul. all the very best .

I ain't gonna write essays here. Only one sentence should work, they are worth nothing but winning.

Prabhdeep

I met him for the first time 2 years ago, and have followed him through his work and websites. He amazed me as a a person right from the onset and my respect for him has only grown. If there is someone who can provide for all the hues and colours required to make this travelogue worth its intent, you have your man - Doc Gaurav. Its not easy to complete your MBBS, I for the record, could never enter into an institution offering one :P! but then leaving it all for a passion. A passion that requires more than just perseverance. It needs continual foresight and and intuition to be trusted like God. And if this journey requires anything else than what they have to offer, believe me, they will take the challenge with the eternal smile, one that they seem to own! God bless, and best of luck.

Prashant

Writing a testimonial for Dr. Gaurav (Doc that is)can be pretty easy or pretty tough for that matter. There is the predictable in it, with his ethics and honesty with with which he is carrying his quest for justice coming to mind at first thought. but is that all? does it end there? not quite. He is a bit more than an individual fighting fir justice. he mixes his abounding creativity with his work, to bring out films, photographs etc etc which carry a much deeper subtext. all in all, he is one person one looks up to...as far as this journey goes, can there be a better person than him to portray all that is required in this case???? best of luck and hope he makes it through.

Gaurav Chhibbar

Having worked in diverse fields as a public speaker i have had the opprtunity and priviledge to work with people with a lot of enthusiasm and drive, but Dr. Gaurav Chhabra is someone with a zeal that truly sets him apart. Not just the "nature " of work, not just the "cause" behind it...it is his spirit..that makes him a befitting candidate for rising upto any challenge...the people at Mitsubishi will be very lucky if they get to see his DRIVE....Gaurav

To take the road less traveled is the way of a true traveler. The lives of both Elena and Gaurav are illustrative of their path of choice. The passion with which they pursue their goals; the unflinching manner in which they take on the hurdles and the joys they give to others while on their way ,is unparalleled. The shutterbug gaurav and his love for words is the mesmerizing aroma of their experiences.. it would be a delight to follow you on the trip......and i have absolutely no reason to believe why they shud'nt' be on that trip!! goodluck !!

Arun Modi

I am very fond of the activities by Dr. Gaurav Chhabra. I feel lucky to have him known from days of my medical school at Ahmedabad. I am very happy that he is doing what he always wanted to do in his life. I am sure if given a chance to take part in the driving challenge he will be the best contestant with Elena. My best wishes are with you !!!!!

Marianne Haider

Got to know Dr. Gaurav when I was working in India. I was amazed to meet somebody who is so passionate and dedicated about changing conditions for people to a better.. He is really courageous and has the gift to inspire people. Gaurav is not just talking about doing good things - %u201CHe is really Acting%u201D and changes can be seen. Also he has such a great sense of humour. Now back home in Austria I would be happy to see soon a film or documentary of his trip through India. Wish you all the best!

Reeti

Hi guys what can i say about gaurav...hmm lets see, let me start by saying that it seems to me that Gaurav has that self confidence and the ability to stand ones ground which are essential to succeed in life . i am not talking of stupid self assurance but of an awarness he possesses of his inner potential , a certainity that he can always correct his behaviour , improve himself , enrich himself and the people around him . So many people walk around with a meaningless life , certainly not him . he gets meaning into his life by devoting to the causes he believes in , devoting to the community around him and devote himself to creating something that gives him purpose and meaning. Seldom have i come across such spirit of 'joie de vivre' as he possess... on the other hand he earns respect no matter where he goes for his outlook and grit. Best wishes for the journey. VOTE FOR HIM !!!!

vrinda sharma

it takes time to be sure if a person has it in him to take on challenges, with these two people i know for sure. Gaurav was probably born with a streak of being active in bringing a change, his movies have changed the way things happen and serve as an example to many. apart from the fact that both of these are great with camera, they are brilliant in expressing themselves and hence the right kind of people to undertake a journey, becasue even thought they wud be goin, many many more would feel like a part of it thru their expeirnce.Always game for adventure and passionate about environmental conservation, these two would make the ideal team for the great driving challenge.

marcia mec

Know Gaurav Chhabbra from past 3 years. Great person, Awesome Photographer. Impressed by some of his works on Social Awareness. The Important thing is along with pursuing his passion for photography, he is actually working for some social cause. Very few get the chance to live a life like that.

Archana Unny

I'm very pleased and proud to say that I have got this guy as my acquaintance. Its really tough for me to write a testimonial for him when words juz fall short to describe this multi talented character who dedicated his talents and career to help the needed ones. I respect him for that. A very down to earth personality. His works, photography, short films which are made for a good cause are truly inspiring and heart touching. It's my pleasure that I could write something worth for a good cause. I wish all the luck for both of you!!

i m chabra boss junior, i can write a testi emphasing on the fact how much does it mean to be a dr and do something like gaurav boss has done? i have known him when i was a fresher and ragging was going on and suddenly among all common crowd of college i met a person who was uncommon in his sense of perception of life, aims and achievement...it didnt take long for me to know he is different! he is one person i wud luk up to always as a junior dr who have achieved his dreams, doing what he wants...u know how much it feels when everybody say u r mad dont go after ur dreams and do what u r told to do..be a stereotypical doctor..be bookworm, cram up the treatment, get the marks, keep urself on toes, keep running! yes keep running so that u can have a comfortable life with all the hi fi cars,a bunglow, home theaters, swimming pools, and all that u can imagine which money can buy.. agree to my words gaurav boss cud do all that..fools dont get admission in mbbs right! but this man know that life is not about prisoning urself inside a beautiful castle,no matter how much lavish ur lifestyle is but if u r living in these walled structures u r still in jail... gaurav boss is just that man who faced all the odds, got it right...kept moving..dont care what world thinks of him,he is a man of dreams and aspirations and substance ,his novel ways of helping society are known to every1, he is a true doctor who is modern, accept changes, understand human and diseases relations not just treatment...and knows how to eradicate the root not the result! all said and done i dont know what characterstics are needed in this challenge, i just knw that this man knows how to face challanges..he has done it throughout his course of moving a different path.. when i m writing a testi its a big thing for me to write of someone charcters..i m too lazy to find time for wroting testi..s of people but this testi is honor for me to write about a person i aspire to be... the smile on his face when he saw me in nid this month told me loud enough that brother i m happy to walk a different path and as a junior u can also go ahead... he is atrue senior and i must give the full form og boss..its "brother of sexy sisters" but i knw that girls dont want to be his sisters in any case....

Deepanwita

Its been a great pleasure to know Gaurav and Elena, two extremely talented and selfless souls. In these times it is really heartening to see that young individuals like them, instead of taking the tried and tested path has chosen to follow an inspiring dream. Looking forward to the interesting travel blog and some great photographs from Gaurav. My best wishes to both of you and to the Mudcake foundation.

A doctor-filmmaker-activist-rebel (with a really good cause), and a gorgeous-globetrotting-kindred spirit (with an eye for the off beaten path) Perfect for this Challenge! But you want to know more, don%u2019t you?! It%u2019s a sign of our times that we%u2019ve come down to pitching and writing testimonials even for genuine, inspiring human beings who are already bringing about concrete change in this world in their own ways. Let their work be the biggest testimonial. Actually, it would be much better if you could spare a few moments to see their work, or even talk to them, and find out for yourself why I am convinced that they%u2019re perfect for the Great(est) Driving Challenge (which is Life itself). Is it possible that this %u2018testimonial%u2019 would affect your decision, and not end up as a mere statistic? I write this with the hope that it is actually read by the people who are involved in the selection process. You%u2019ve got so many things on your mind, haven%u2019t you? So many factors, so many variables! (shhh...I understand) But seriously, let me ask you: Do you love life? Have you ever touched someone%u2019s life? Do you even truly care? Would you really strive? Would you go all the way to bring about change? Do you have the seeds of rebellion in your spirit? Do you have it in you to challenge your limits? Because if you do, then you just cannot miss out on Gaurav & Elena.

Gaurav, aka Sirji (as I call him) is a one man army type of a guy. This is for the %u201Chow and why%u201D: Founder and director of Humlog (http://www.humlog.org/), the man is commited to creating awareness about critical issues of society. His %u201CMudcake%u201D (http://www.humlog.org/mudcakefund/) and %u201CGreen Warriors%u201D (http://www.humlog.org/gw/) will reflect his sensitivity and passion for the causes. There is a magnestism about his personality although he does nothing to attract people to pour in their contributions. He says what he means and does what he believes in. The guy is genuine, helpful, down-to-earth and CRAZY TOO!. What adds to the %u201Cmind-Blowing-ness%u201D is that he is a Doc and a photographer as well!!! Phewwuu! I think Godji took a day off just to create you. %uF04A Cheers!

...Standing in front of a bulldozer(while the people staring at him as if he's a mad man)trying to save a TREE...was enough to make me realize his passion to preserve environment. I feel immensely inspired by the single-minded determination with which he treads 'the road less traveled'. Doc or gaurav as we all call him... you are doing a great work... keep it up!!!

Rahul

Have a look at their work and you wouldnt require people like me or anyone to tell you what these two are about. For me, you already are winners. :) May "The Beauty & The Beast" be successful in this endeavour. Peace \m/

The HighWay Karma%u2026.. the name says it all doesn%u2019t it ? Gaurav stands for-Guts, Ambition, Universal- Rights, Adventure Vision%u2026.Elena stands for- Efficiency, Love, Energy, Nature Adventure.. I have known Gaurav since he started hum log in Chandigarh , one rare breed, a doctor and activist, when doctors in our country are busy making money with unethical practice here is guy who is using his medical education to the best. Elena is a linguist in Kolkata , knowing more than 6-7 languages a self trained nurse, her heart lies with children, when she is not doing her translation jobs, she is helping out in post operative needs of slum children who need care. They are not your usual husband and wife couple , they are two buddies from different cultures and backgrounds coming together for this challenge, with one mission to educate and help poor slum kids, orphans and street children, the future of our nation. Both of them are passionate about travelling and photography their blogs and photos says it all. And Both of them Living on the edge for what they believe in., Driven by sheer commitment to make a change, even if it is drop in ocean, makes them the most ELGIBLE CONTENDERS for the challenge. How many of us think of street kids ? if we think how many do about it anything ? and they have been thinking and doing and now they have decided to take this challenge head on to add impetus to their work, to reach out to more children, and also to make society aware of the issues and concerns related to children. This is your time to contribute, if you don%u2019t have the time to do anything, the least you can do is support them in this CHALLENGE by making them the FINALISTS ! You will win I am sure about it, so roll on the HiGhWaY kArMa%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.
