We are Juggie and Poonam from Bangalore. Hard core Bangaloreans Juggie is a self employed graphic designer and I head corporate communications in a multi national company.communications professional. Both of us have travelled extensively in India - Kashmir to kanya kumari. Mumbai to Kolkatta and have a lot more to see in our country. We are pretty spontaneous and many of our trips on the road have been unplanned. Apart from this we are passionate about photography and food. This passion is shared by our 14 year old son Ashwin.

We are the best candidates because...

We are the best candidates,as we have never missed an opportunity to travel. We are travellers and not tourists. Non fussy we go with the flow and turn challenges into opportunities. Avid supporters of motor sport Juggie has even won a second spot as a driver in the National IASC rally in 1998. Our association with the sport has sensitised us to the safety aspects of driving.

Our Travel Plan

Hi all! we have our plan in place. We start from Mumbai and go to Lonavala, we get to capture the beauty of monsoon and the hills. From Lonavala to Shirdi - holy blessing. Move on to Pune for a bit of the city, this will be enroute to Goa. Need I say anything about Goa? The most beautiful place in monsoon and otherwise as well. Goa onward to Jog falls, which should be in its full splendour - relive the fun of Mungalu Malle ( in Kannada it means pre monsoon showers and is also a very famous movie). From Jog onward to Mangalore via Udupi temple for more divine intervention and for more coast driving. Mangalore leads up to Bangalore - touch base at home very briefly before we move to Hampi. Hampi the heart of the Vijaynagar empire has a lot of History embedded here. Will drive onto Bijapur - Gol Gumbaz in all its glory - soak in more History and then back to our base and start point Mumbai. This distance is around 3100 kms. Our plan includes spots where we can rest for the nights. Like we promised - our drive, blogs and pictures will have something for everybody!!

Our Travelogue

We have travelled from Bangalore to Goa on a TVS Supra (not sure if the model exists any more). Tirupathi, Pondicherry, Salem,Munnar, Yercaud, Madurai, Chennai, Coorg, Ooty and several other destinations in the South have heard the roar of our bikes and then our cars. Apart from this we have travelled across India the lenght and breath of it, through different modes of transport. We have travelled on a TVS 50 from Bangalore to Tumkur. Other means of transport include buses, planes, trains and even in a steam engine. My travels abroad include Maldives, Hong Kong, Australia, Nepal, Srilanka, London and several destinations in the United States. The most common factor I see as a result of all our travels is being to accept people for what they are.

Come September 2009, I would have known Poonam and Juggie for 20 years. In these 20 years, boy, have these guys travelled around or what? They are die-hard travellers, and love to drive long distances, be it biking it in a TVS Supra from Bangalore to Goa in 1990 (or was it 1991?) or going to Nandi Hills on a Kinetic Honda. I wish them all luck in their travels!

I have known Juggie and Poonam for a long long time and their energy amazes me. At the drop of a hat they are ready to travel. Even during Poonams trip to the US we covered a lot of ground in just two weeks. Within India they have been to places very few people have even heard of, like the interiors of Chattisgarh. They are great cooks too.. Wish them lots of enjoyment.....
