I am an automotive stylist while my better half is a graphic designer who has ventured out with her own studio setup. Coming from a family that was moving places since my father was in a transferable job I have never been attached to a particular city but identify myself with all the many places I have lived and been educated at. Be it Baroda, Delhi or Digboi. Even now my family lives in different parts of the world! I guess that is where the craving to move around and travel comes from. My wife is more attached to Delhi since she has done her schooling and has her family there. Culturally she is routed to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan as she has her roots there. She loves to explore and document the culture curry that India has plenty to offer in her own graphic style, sometimes with illustrations and photographs. My wife often teases me saying that she wishes she'd rather be a car! And I am always amazed with her culture driven illustrations.

We are the best candidates because...

We would love to believe that we are the best because we have travelled a lot in India and abroad in extreme situations and under very crunched budgets as well and have still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We truly believe that travel exposes oneself to so many different cultures and ways of living that it enriches our journey on earth and as a human being.

Our Travel Plan

We have still not explored the southern part of the Indian subcontinent yet, so would love to travel down south. Mumbai being the start-point offers a great opportunity to drive along the coastal belt for its serene spots. Our halts could be Goa, Bengaluru, Mysore, the backwaters in Kerela that we have heard so much of...Ideally we'd love to explore and plan on the go keeping a broad overview and also a tab on time and kms. on hand!

Our Travelogue

We have usually never travelled with an elaborate itinerary. But our first travel together breaks all records! We were both postgrads at the same design school where we first met. It was end semester and there was a great deal of pressure to finish work before our juries. On the dinner table in the mess on a Saturday night we decided to take a break and just go anywhere. From the charasta in Ahmedabad the last bus would leave at 9:30pm and we were still sitting here just brooding where to go. We rushed to our respective hostel rooms, grabbed whatever came in hand to pack our bags and made it on the one and only bus going to Junagarh! Not the most touristy place on the map, but it was indeed the most memorable. After which there were many more...adalaj, diu, alangh were nice quite places with great food to name a few. Since our hometown is Delhi, we have travelled around quite a bit. Jaipur is our favourite haunt and a smooth drive away whenever we are in Delhi. Besides which we have recently done Pushkar and Jaisalmer together recently. We have inaugurated our passports and even done our first trip outside India together to Frankfurt, Germany for the Motor Show and from there to Amsterdam. I have recently been to Geneva, Switzerland and Swati to Male, Maldives on independent work related trips. During monsoon weekends whenever we have the opportunity we travel to a new place around Mumbai. So far we have done, Harihareshwar, Diveagar, Matheran, Pune, Karnala, Bhandardhara, Alibaug and in and around Lonavla. We love trekking and have had the chance to encounter the wild on several spots en route to such places.

Abhinav

Ankur and Swati are amongst those rare people who enjoy travel to its true meaning, with no fixed plans and no intent on arriving! They just keep on moving strenuously in search of adventure, of experience, of the world around them. This challenge is custom-designed for them. My best wishes for the couple.
