Hi Masuma & Huzaifa from 'Amchi Mumbai'. I met my wife online, on a chat site some 10 yrs back (Paltalk.com). We started chatting.. & one fine day (almost after a year and a half) I asked her out for a date, which she flatly refused.. that is when I came to knw she was from Dubai... Cut 2 -- My parents reached her house with our marriage proposal and we got married in Mumbai on 19th May 2002. Currently I am working with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Mumbai as IT Infrastructure Service Delivery Manager, at the same time my beloved manages our house, family and parents & of course me..... Driving has been my passion.. It was just that one first session the driving instructor took for my mom which stayed in my mind... At home I visualized what ever the instructor said…. A couple of days from then and my parents went out of town for a few days. I bribed my brother to drive the moped and I took the car…. Surely when they were back they managed to know what we had done during the weekend. However I had to wait for around 4 yrs when I would turn 18 to officially get a license to drive.

We are the best candidates because...

This is a dream come true for both of us. We have done similar expeditions on our own numerous times in the past. The difference now is that it’s a competition and we need to qualify… undoubtedly if we qualify we are winning it.. Its our Love, obsession, enthusiasm to be with nature, visit different places, meet new people, culture, traditions, communities, yearning to be in the wild, spot animals, have made us travel extensively through out India by road. I gurantee you all a most thrilling, electrifying, exhilarating, adventurous and amazing journey through my eyes.... At the end of it I am sure you all will long to get along with me on my next trips across India.... UNDOUBTEDLY WE ARE THE BEST CANDIDATES & WILL PROVE WE ARE!!!

Our Travel Plan

“South India” is the place offering all the excitement a traveler would want… not too sure how far we can go.. at the moment would keep our destination as Kodaikanal as it is approx 1500 kms one way... The route tentatively would be Mumbai - Goa - Udupi - Mangalore – Khozikode – Thrissur – Ernakulum – Munnar – Kodaikanal – Coimbatore – Ooty – Masinagudi – Mudhumalai – Bandipur – Mysore – Bangalore – Chitradurga – Bijapur – Solapur – Aurangabad -- Ellore – Ahmednagar – Pune – Mumbai.. There are some exotic, virgin, unknown, unheard places which I plan to capture and share with you.....

Our Travelogue

The initial trigger was a trip which my father planned to South India almost 17 yrs back, I was a mere spectator then, no license no driving was the message....then with friends and now I am always accompanied by my wife who surely is a great companion. Its not possible to measure how much of India has been covered but yes, the process has started long back and will surely continue for many years ahead... Before I officially started driving I used to visit Ooty & Kodaikanal twice in a year… most of the times alone… I always preferred the bus and would select the first seat so that I could see the road, the overtaking. Once I got my license and could drive I used my fathers Maruti Van in which 3 friends of us aged 20 & 21 went to South India. That was the most spontaneous trip. All planned in an hour. My rest of the group was surprised to know that we are going for such a long trip. That was a great first time experience. The next one was a one way trip from Cochin (from my friends native to Mumbai, when we were around 22), we had to get a Premier Padmini (Fiat) to Mumbai. This trip gave us all the experience one would require on the highway while driving alone and through the jungles. We had a near escape when we were escorted to a secluded place before Mysore. Our brakes had failed and had to get it repaired. We approached a transport office…. Looking at the registration of the vehicle they realized that we were heading to Mumbai. It was implied that we are carrying sufficient cash for the fuel on the way. That is when they escorted us to a secluded place… On the way this guy stopped at 4 – 5 different houses. Everytime he said the mechanic is not here and we proceeded… At the end we were out of the village in a deserted location at 11:30 in the night….I was sitting at the drivers seat and my friend busy getting pally with other.. That is when I realized that we are heading for some real bad time… I simply asked my friend to get in the car without any questions asked and we sped from there… After this I have had numerous trips to the south. The most wonderful trip was to the North (Manali), It was a NON-STOP drive for 36 hrs from Mumbai to Manali (with 4 adults and 4 kids -- the greed to reach the snow made us drive through the 2 days and one night) have attached a few pics, they speak for them selves. All our previous attempts to spot the Tiger in the wild failed (had been a couple of times to Jim Corbett, by road) which made me go to Bandhavgarh approx 1,400 kms one way by road from Mumbai, where we were lucky enough to spot the amazing animal. We have been a couple of times to Dubai, however, nothing to beat India in any respects.... One of our most unique experience was a Trip to Yemen, a very dry, dead & scarry place.. people with automatic rifles on the road was a common scene.... Our trips to the North by road have been to Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kulu, Manali, Shimla, Massourie, Jim Corbett, Nainitaal. East by road we have been to Panchmurhi, Bargi, Jabalpur, Bandhavgarh. West we have been to Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Mandvi. South we have been to Goa, Hasan, Bangalore, Mysore, Ooty, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Munnar, Thekkadi, Cochin, Kovvalam. Our next trip is either to Kashmir, Leh - Ladakh or Darjeeling and extreme East of India.

The first time I met Huzaifa - I found this guy very interesting and challenging. I had interviewed him for a position in my team for which I had to politely refuse him coz' there was some other technical skills that I was looking for. He came back after 4 months acquiring that skill which made me feel so excited that I hired him immediately. I have minutely observed him and found him to take up challenges on his own sweet will and keep up to them with perseverence. His craze for driving is contagious - I am amused with the vigor with he pursues this love of his - I would love to be his navigator once he gets this prize. Wishing him all the best for the future.

I've know Huzaifa since almost 2 yrs now. They were 2 families (4 adults & 4 kids) & had returned from Nainitaal. Thats not it, the most astonishing fact was that they had driven down from Mumbai to Manali (non stop, 2000 kms in 33 hrs). Then went on to Shimla, Nainitaal & from Nainitaal to Delhi to my Hotel. This guy is crazy for driving, visiting new places, peolpe. That was just the once instance when we have met, however, he regularly keeps in touch. All the best my dear friend.... Chak de phatte...

Huzaifa is a crazy driver... His appetite for travelling can be seen from the distance he travelling in his Innova. 185,000 kms in 36 months. He is very adventurous by nature. He likes going on long drive with family and friends, He likes driving to hilly areas, He likes wild life. What else i can say... A perfect Terrainer....

You need to be really crazy enough to win such competitions and Huzaifa is one of craziest guy I have ever met. I still remember one day he asked me to join him for a tour to Uttaranchal via road and I realized how crazy is this guy when it comes to long drives. Huzaifa & Masuma are really MFEO (made for each other)as they both are adventurous and loves to travel. I think both have already been to South India, Goa, Corbet Park etc%u2026 via road. If they qualifies he will surely win%u2026 All the best Huzaifa...
