A big Hi to you from us, Ompriya and Subhendu , from the city of Nawabs Hyderabad and originally from the Temple city of Bhubaneswar, Orissa. We have known each other since past 4 years and have been happily married for close to 3 years now.Earning our bread and butter from the IT Industry, we have varied interests and pastimes; traveling, dancing, writing and cooking to name a few. Apart from our love and respect for each other, what binds us closer is the wanderlust we both share. Come to think of it, that might go down in our marital memoir as the only thing we both are really passionate about, together. I have such a predilection for traveling and exploring different places, people and food alike is that my friends think I was a vagabond in my last birth. My hubby and my best friend however is a lot quieter soul, cherishing every moment of the journey (which should be well-planned with perfect precision, with the extra stress on the planning bit) through his lenses and pen. Incidentally we follow the same principle when it comes to life, the greatest of the journeys. While I like being surprised and always on the lookout for something new, in terms of a friend, food or fashion (not in the same order), he is blissfully satisfied with the routine life which often takes a vivid and lively hue thanks to his skill with the words. While I get on a high taking on the wheels and zooming past busy and not-so-busy roads after a long tiring day, he sits by my side and loses himself in my endless natters and screams and probably wonders where I get all my energy from! Opposites do attract and how!

We are the best candidates because...

We feel we, with my insatiable penchant for travelling and his flair for writing would be any travel contest’s delight. We both love adventure, have the same sensibilities as far as places go, (we both love the mountains and the greenery) make a great couple on the road. We have our fair share of travelling experiences in our last 3 years of togetherness, Kerala, Nainital, Mussorie, and recently to Kashmir. I have a natural passion for driving and love long drives along with my husband in tow, who is more than happy to let me drive while he can soak in the serene surroundings and let his imagination run riot on paper. We are not sure what would be the criteria for selection, but if you are looking for a pure passion for driving, relentless adventure and a lively travelogue, look no further.

Our Travel Plan

Our tentative travel plan : Mumbai - Hampi - Bangalore - Kochi - Kanyakumari and back to Mumbai via Panaji.

Our Travelogue

Our first journey together was a train ride from Kolkata to Bhubaneswar, much before we got married. We were able to relive the same golden moments in our Honeymoon to God’s own country. Partly in flight and car, the southern sojourn was not only memorable for the placid backwaters, lush green tea-plantations or serene sea-shores, the car drive along those Ayurvedic forests or to the tranquil Munnar was in itself a experience of a lifetime, reinstating the fact that it’s the journey that matters not the destination. For our first anniversary, we planned to let our hair down and travelled all the way from Hyderabad to Delhi and from there to Nainital, Mussorrie, Ranikhet and a brush with the wild at Corbett. A whirlwind yet amazing road-trip, we look back at it as one of the most exciting journeys we had. We had a road-trip from Delhi to Manali and Rohtang pass not so long ago, along with my two brothers who are equally if not more passionate about travel and another trip from Mumbai to Nasik and Ahmedabad with my parents Recently, we landed in the paradise of earth and had a blast with the snow, mountain and the lakes. Kashmir is much more than anybody could ever write about it , there’s a vastness in the valleys and hugeness in the mountains that makes us realise, we are after all lesser mortals. Apart from these, we did have many short trips in and around Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Delhi, that have been quite fun and we look forward to have more such revitalizing experiences. Prior to our marriage, Subh was deputed in UK for 2 years and he did travel in and around London, Scotland, Paris and Switzerland.
