We are Aili and Anirudh from Mumbai. I am originally from Italy but have moved to India 2 years ago and met my husband Anirudh. Anirudh was born in Korba, Chattisgarh but has been working in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai while employee of Accenture India,where he works as a Manager. I work for Subhash Ghai's film school as a Study Abroad Administrator but also take translation assignments in Hindi and Italian. We got married in February 2009 after 2 years of dating in Mumbai. We love the night life in Mumbai and traveling. Anirudh is very fond of adventure sports such as paragliding and scuba diving, while I am more of a book worm and film freak. We would love to participate in the the Great Driving Challenge because we want to test our coordination and show our love for challenges (mixed marriage is a proof!) and traveling. We would also love to test Mitsubishi CEDIA sports car and see how it is compatible with our two way driving.

We are the best candidates because...

We are the best candidates because Roads are in our blood! I believe that until a country is not travel by road it remains virgin territory. You need to feel the kilometers running under your bones to realize distances, difference in cultures, food, language, plants, buildings etc. That is why I have always chosen to travel by road during my multiple trips. As a couple, we are very different and at the same time manage to be compatible with each other. We intensively argue and reason things out, specially when traveling, but manage to find a middle path. Anirudh wants to travel by night and I by the day; we argue and travel during twilight hours! He wants to eat in the next 5 star hotel and I by the roadside snack stall; we fight and end up eating in a dhaba! We love traveling and challenges and would be very excited to combine the two in a car trip.

Our Travelogue

I have extensively traveled in India, covering all the states from North to South but have never been to the North East. I have also traveled from Malasya to India via land in a trip that took me a full year. During this trip I covered Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Tibet, Nepal while during my previous traveling experience I traveled from Mexico to Peru via land in 6 months. During this 6 months period I went through Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador and Peru, and walked 3 days to reach Machu Picchu! In Europe I used to regularly travel from Italy to Finland via train going through Sweden, Germany, Austria. I have also been several times in France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland and lived in UK for 13 years. Anirudh and I have been to Thailand on holiday and he has also lived in UK for some time.

These two guys have wheels as feet! Believe it or not but they can drive from South Mumbai to North 4 times in a day just to make their friends happy, and that too on a two wheeler. They too fight..but it's very entertaining! Good luck
