One experience we relish still our memories is drive to the Malshej ghat from Mumbai. We started after a heavy lunch on a sunday afternoon and we hit the highest point in Malshej to get a shot of the sunset there. The drive back was more ehilirating i wonder if its more fun at Rushmore. One more experience which we will never forget is our drive through south India covering Bangalore, mysore, ooty starting from Hyderabad...we experinced different terrains and different weather in a span of 5-6 days and was very enjoyable..the drive in mudumalai forest and then the ghat section near oooty-connor is awesome.. During the past 2 yrs or so during our tenure in Mumbai...we had covered most of the near by locations in mumbai through driving to them.... Another place we love to drive to is the konkan driving from mumbai to Goa with valleys, forests, breathtaking views of waterfalls.. Other driving experince include the drive from Hyderabad to Srisailam which covers a vast stretch of forests, hillocks..if you are lucky you would spot a some wild life also.. The drive through the konaseema belt in Coastal Andhra is a drive worth taking ...roads covered with coconut trees on both sides provide shelter even in summer ...the cool breeze from the back waters and the beach nearby is blissful in hot summers..you can drive down to virgin beaches filled with white sand ..this is a drive from Kakinada to odalarevu in which you can put your vehicle on a launch to cross the waters n then drive ahead... the drive in the opposite direction from Kakinada to Vizag and then to Araku is one in which you can see beaches, valleys, dense forests n coffee gardens...a drive during the flowering of the charming yellow mustard/niger? flowers is wonderful....you pass thru many picturesque landscapes and waterfalls.. On a recent trip we drove from Mumbai to hyderabad in flat 14 hrs. We started in Goregaon at 11 PM and hit hyderebad home at 1PM next day for a hot lunch. The best drive was on the xpressway to Pune looks like wind was on our side as Hitler said for jesse owens in the olympics.
