For the TOP 100 couples at the end of Round 1, this will be a victory that is well deserved. No Luck by Chance. The Jury panel worked hard and arrived at a unanimous decision, before handing over the list to us. If you make it to the list, go ahead, flaunt your victory.
Losing is always a disappointment, and I am sure many of you will feel crushed - but momentarily! You will wonder, why am I not amongst those TOP 100? Where did I go wrong? Unfortunately i will not be able to give individual answers, because I was not a part of the Jury.
I refuse to stand on the pulpit and preach to the choir. Many of you have already shown, what it takes to rise above the competition and take-away things that are positive. Some of you floated groups on Facebook, others started their travel blogs, archived old travel photographs, and so many of you got re-connected with old friends and family. Almost all of you started dreaming.
The best thing that could happen on GDC was the sheer discovery of so many amazing couples with one common passion.
I hope we will all stay connected as the event moves on to its next phase. Trust me - there is lot of excitement in store, even if you are just watching from the side-lines!
Wrapping up

The Jury has wrapped up their proceedings and turned in the final 100 shortlist tonight. Team GDC will be announcing the same on-schedule on-site, on Monday.
Post the announcement, the shortlisted participants will get a verification call from our “on-ground organizers” and you will be asked to fax-in a set of documents. The Jury will move in to the next round of deliberations, post verification. Team GDC will keep you updated all the way through.
To make sure we can all take a ring-side view of the proceedings, Team GDC will blog the judging event live from the venue at Mumbai. So please stay tuned to the announcements over the next couple of days. There are going to be mega prizes for the audience on the web, as they decide to continue on tracking the journey of the semi-finalists, and then the finalists. You will get a chance to pick your favorite couples and cheer them along - cause if they win, as ‘team supporters’ you too will also get a chance to win big!
Lot of things are in the works, and we will share the details as soon as possible.
It has been exactly 2 weeks since we started this blog, and it has been an amazing experience listening and learning from you.
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and best wishes.
Funny Fake IDs

This is the most hilarious set of email IDs we discovered from the suspect voting logs.
I think this guy deserves a goody! I mean how much more creative can you get

All these IDs were logged between time-stamp of 23:09 and 23:22, implying that the applicants were really hard at work.

Cam an? Are you guys paying someone to do this for you? If yes - they are doing a darned poor job, I must say !!
On a more serious note, we pulled out a lot of folks who have used providers like yopmail.com, mailinator.com, bsnow.net etc. We can all buy in the argument that some friends prefer to use email aliases and alike services - but what is the probability that you will have a series of friends who all vote within seconds of each other and have IDs like this.

There are almost a a half dozen applicants who appear smarter and have abused corporate email IDs, possibly with insider help from IT folks. Unfortunately we can’t publish those corporate IDs, but when the email IDs look this below (we have switched the corporate email name to avoid embarrassment) starting serially with a-z, do we really need to look any further. What is the probability of a corporation have multiple emails IDs starting with a, b, c etc and what is the compounded probability of these people all voting in a perfect sequence, that too in a matter on minutes.

I rest my case.
The good news is that most of these applicants who faked email IDs did not make it anyway to the TOP 100. They were too busy with the other stuff.
So the jury did not really have to exercise any veto. They were just plain amused at this display of inanity.
