Early morning email from Anamika with a picture attached. Guess who was home last night ? A beauty named Mitsubishi Cedia Sports decked up for a special ride…the accessories which came with her were Joe & Nam!! They stayed overnight next door at our apartments in Hiranandani Estate, Thane for taking an early jump start to their Immortal India tour… Hi TGDC team, can you please provide easy and quick links to all 3 teams profile and planned maps? It would just be easier to see where they are headed and how much have they covered? I would also appreciate a flickr feed box for each team, so people can have a quick glance at the shots taken by them on their way. EC team is good. This is a quick job.

Hey team TGDC, I must say that you’ve started it off with a bang…n congratulations for that….but I wanna say that…there is nothing live (ly) going on…I can’t see a real time update of whats going on… No photos no videos or good blogs… from yesterday evening…one or two boring one liner blogs doesn’t make it great…there is nothing great seems for me to be hooked on to it… So my advise is to make this place lively…Keep on updating your site on realtime basis…oterwise we all followers will loose interest… I don’t understand, you guys will be giving prizes to the ppl who are logged in into driving hours…but if ppl won’t find anything live or interesting here, then why would they stay online and waste their countless hours!! atleast some latest pics with a little comments will do… So try to focus on it… Cheers

Very true… I still remember the first day I took my Cedia (black sports) for a ride in Bangalore, I could notice many heads turn, and boy wasn’t I glad. A few days later when I was stuck at a red light, one guy in a verna rolls down his windows and points towards me to roll down mine… I happily oblige and he says “nice car !”. That gave me some of my best cherished moments. Especially because I was split on whether to buy verna or cedia. Not sure whether it was my imagination or reality but I have even noticed a merc back seat guy turning his head to see my black beauty

Ajay, i do agree with you. TGDC Team is surviving on with borrowed snaps !!...Parasitic approach ! ....nothing live here ....all our enthusiasm has dampened ! ... Why to remain hooked on when nothing interesting is happening for us ? .....from the beginning, TGDC was never perfect technically ....applications getting stuck in moderation, votes not getting confirmed, then childish way of covering the Auditions at Royal Palms ...TGDC has gone for Hibernation since Monday !! ... we want real time coverage !!.....get some professional help ..... Hrish Thota appears to have a mediocre output….......

Forgive me, but after several hours, I had to say this. I left this comment elsewhere on this site. Over several weeks, we’ve had some thousands of entries, sliced to a top 100, further cut to 12, and those 12 put through various evaluations to select the final 3 who hit the road. And from one of those 3 on their first day, we get a video clip—through a front windshield, no less, not even taken by simply stepping outside—of cars waiting at a railway crossing. And to go with that, the discovery of a USB port, and a mention of how smooth the car is. Travel at its best. good luck, https://greatdrivingchallenge.com/application/1246946775796126/

Sorry to post again (I have posted this in the blog of one of the teams also) C’mon guys… you can do much better than this. The first day of TGDC drive has been complete waste for fans like me. There has been only one update and that too about some PJ kind of photograph. Absolutely no details of travel experience… where have you guys been whole day. I can probably write a much better commentary of my travel in Bangalore that includes only commute to office. Looks like either you guys are too tired or jury was sleeping while deciding the top 3.

am thinking the posts will start cominig in by 3AM when the guys finish the writing/editting/retouching….. we were talking about it yesterday, me and the wife, and we figured that these three teams are actually going to need a vacation to get over the vacation….. 350km a day is around 7hours of driving (remember the rulebook says stick to speed limits so going over 80 on the expressway disqualifies you ).... aaaarrrgghhhh with a Cedia sticking to 80kmph is going to be torture sply when one thinks of Joe who wrote about doing 180+ on the expressway recently…...)... it’s actually going to be around 10 hours of driving coz they’ll stop to take pics and videos and or talk to ppl…. that’s gruelling…. once they reach the night halt they will need to do the post processing and struggle with connectivity issues (115kbps from Tata/Reliance is hardly 15kbps upload speeds…. goodluck uploading videos on that….)......

Keep the faith. Day 1 is always choppy - with a new laptop, new car, new camera, new phone, new interface, and a crew chasing you from the back. Lets not forget that the pressure of winning the grand prize is building up. Request your empathy.

All teams are aware of these gadgets. That is why they were keeping up in this challenge. No? TGDC, wake up form excuses and give us something to watch. @anand I agree with your point of less updates and excuses from TGDC. can we see something guys? (this is to teams as well)

Well, form this shot all we can notice is pavement and corner of the roof. Cedia looks like any other car in the lot. It stands out in the photo only with those gigantic logos everywhere.

I would appreciate if you guys can give your suggestions and recommendations to the 3 driving teams. They are the ones participating in this challenge, and they need the support of their fans. Maybe you can give them some bright ideas, which can change the game. Think about it.

My two cents over all the comments that are being stoned at TGDC. TGDC has gone silent over the last 24 hours. Agreed. The couples didn’t give us the adrenalin rush that we as fans expected. Sure. We weren’t given ‘live’ coverage as promised. Yes. But then, the fact of the matter is, everyone is on to it. They’re trying. TGDC is toiling behind the scenes to make this happen. This is evident from the subtle changes happening on the site. You can see the GUI changes on the homepage. Login to your fan page and things have changed there. Handling technology at a large scale when a lot of traffic and database issues have to be dealt with at high standards, it’s not an easy job. Add to that pulling out contestant details, verifying their credentials and synching with the sponsors again is painstaking. Meanwhile, the couples only got started with their journey yesterday. They’ve got gadgets, sure. But they also have a life. Aren’t they supposed to *enjoy* and *cherish* the miles that they’re doing? Give them their *space* for a while. Let them do what they want do. They know their responsibilities. They know their stuff. Thats why they qualified and we did not. Lets give the guys a couple of days, and I’m positive we’ll see the magic of TGDC again. Besides, the very fact that all of us are cursing TGDC at this stage is due to the kind of enigma TGDC has thwarted into us. We’ve lived the dream together with TGDC and have become galactic fans. And more often than not, whenever fans don’t get what they want, we see an outburst - like we’re seeing now. Lets stay low a little. And wait for the magic to happen.
