Our Travelogue
I would have liked to start this section with a description of "our best trip", but the thing is that it really is quite difficult to narrow down to just one of them. We cherish each one of our trips and the fond memories stay as our desktop wallpapers to keep reminding us that our office cubicle is just a stepping stone to places where we really want to be. A better way to go through our experiences in detail would be go through the blog above, while here we would be providing you some snippets of our "out-of-the-ordinary" experiences so far. I'll start with one of them. Dec 2007 . Two newly weds were headed off in their Esteem to the remote areas of Kumaon. It was 6pm... almost sunset with Munsiyari still another 15km away. The trouble was that the area had received snowfall during the last week and the road was just about partially cleared, with stretches where snow was still on the road, though a thin layer, but enough to make the car skid. It was getting dark, but we just had to reach Munsiyari that night, as we had heard a lot about the place. So we took the risk to proceed.... The 15 km drive through freshly cleared snow in pitch darkness took us about 2 hours! There was a point where the car skidded off the road, and onto snow. At this point, Harsh had to get out of the car in the freezing cold and literally wipe off the snow from the tyres with his hands, so that the car could grip the road surface just enough to come back on the so called "track". The night was too scary to capture on camera, but is vividly sketched in our memories. However, the beautiful sight of the Panchachuli peaks from our room's window the next morning definitely made the previous night's scary drive worth all the effort!
