Brainstorming

Posted By ramesh

We spent some time brainstorming for a team name and after binging on beer and biryani this is what Priya came up with.Thank you Priya we know we can depend on you and the boyz to coin catchy names

Here's some information from Wikipedia on Hot rods for you. 'Hot rods are typically American cars with large engines modified for linear speed.
Nobody knows for sure the origin of the term "hot rod." One explanation is that the term is a contraction of "hot roadster," meaning a roadster that was modified for speed. Another explanation is that the mufflers were exposed and thus there was a "hot rod" or hot muffler neck when the vehicle was running. Open roadsters were the cars of choice to modify because they were light. Hot Rod may also refer to the connecting rods, cam, or pushrods inside the engine or to the exposed frame rails of such an automobile. It was adopted in the 1930s or 1940s as the name of a car that had been "hopped up" by modifying the engine in various ways to achieve higher performance.'

Here's our motto.

We're focusing a lot of our time in the coming week to prepare for the next round in Mumbai. Please take some time out of your busy schedule to come visit our blog. We'd love to hear from you, so leave a comment and tell us what you think we should do to prepare for the next round, what you'd like to see on this space and even a hello would be nice.

This is so coool!  I am very intrigued about the idea of your “biriyani trail”. How many different kinds have you guys discovered till date?

A dear friend of mine Chitrita Banerji, a food historian, recently published a book titled “Eating India”. In it she mentions things like rich Avadhi Biryani and the “kucchi” Hyderabadi Biryani and her preference for the former. Try reading it sometime.

We’re excited about the Biryani quest ourselves. How many have we discovered? Atleast five to six I’d say. The Natakoli Biryani of Tamil nadu, the muslim biryani of Ambur also Tamil nadu, A box of Hyderabadi biryani from Grand Kakatiya used to be my only hand baggage when I made day trips to Hyderabad, the Calcutta dum biryani which has potaoes in it, the Kerala biryani which has a boiled egg in it and the spicy Andhra biryanis.
The list of places to taste and savour a great biryani is longer
Shall try and get a copy of Chitrita Banerji’s book “Eating India” ( What an intriguing title) Might be just the thing for our trip.
