Last night, I was over at my parents’ place having dinner with them. My dad and I were chatting about the GDC and we were just chatting about roads and how much better they are now, how traveling by road was a lot harder earlier, the dangers, the thrills. Its funny but my dad and I seem to share a similar story.
My father, until shortly after I was born, used to rally and race cars! Yep! Popsie was a racer! Now the funny story is, he was telling me how he got into racing cars, and it was all by chance! One day someone (a friend?) said “Hey, you have a car, why dont you join that race”. He did. He won.
I was thinking about our story. There I was online sorting out my accounts, Subhash, a photographer friend from Bangalore pings me on facebook asking me if I’ve heard about the GDC, I checked it out, spoke to some others who were also online at the time, who only discouraged me saying its either too late or just *bs*, and, well, that’s why I did it I guess! Called Zinaida up, she was excited right away, and here we are. I just hope its not only our beginnings that are similar
I’m off to bed now. Tomorrow I’ll tell you a little about the Vintage Car Rally my dad, my brother and I took part in a while back
Goodnight,
Roohshad
